Presiding Elder
Wanda London

Rev. Wanda London is the Presiding Elder serving the great congregations that comprise the Eastern Baltimore District of the Baltimore Conference within the Second Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Her Story

Rev. Wanda E. London is a native of Washington, DC, and is the second oldest of Doris and the late Archie London. Rev. London was spiritually nurtured from childhood at Campbell AME Church. Accepting her call in 1988, Rev. London began her ministry journey and was ordained an Itinerant Deacon in 1991; and ordained in 1993 an Itinerant Elder in the AME Church.

 

She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from George Washington University and a Master of Divinity Degree from Howard University School of Divinity. Rev. London began her pastoral ministry in 1993 as she planted Galilee AME Church in SW DC, where she served as pastor for 7 years. She served several churches in the Washington Annual Conference, serving Calvary AME Church, Mt. Rainier, MD for 3 years; Payne Memorial AME Church, Jessup Maryland for 16 years; and St. Paul AME Church, Washington, DC for 2 years.

 

Rev. London has served the AME Church on many levels, including Women In Ministry Caucus Leader and Conference Coordinator; General Conference delegate and alternate delegate; and she served on the Washington Annual Conference Secretarial Team for over 20 years- most recently completing several years of service as the Conference Secretary.

 

In July 2022 Rev. London was appointed Presiding Elder of the Eastern District, of the historic Baltimore Annual Conference. Rev. London has a heart to serve God’s people and her prayer is that we might know Christ and know Him in the power of His resurrection (Philippians 3:10).
